Andrew Nolen, (The Barker, Bass; Paul, Baritone),
is an important new performer of the bass-baritone repertoire. With
performances in the US, Italy, and France, Mr. Nolen has sung numerous
roles to excellent acclaim including Zuniga (Carmen), Gaudenzio
(Il Signor Bruschino), Polonius (Hamlet), Der Sprecher (Die Zauberflöte),
Elder Ott and Blitch (cover) (Susannah), Alidoro (La Cenerentola),
Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro), Nick Shadow (The Rake's Progress),
Mr. Peachum (The Beggar's Opera), Abbott (Curlew River), Superintendent
Budd (Albert Herring), Simone (Gianni Schicchi), and the roles of
Lohtsky and Verva in the highly acclaimed Bard Music Festival production
of Osud. In concert Mr. Nolen has sung Adonis (Venus and Adonis)
and Herod (Christmas Story), and he has sung the bass solos in Haydn's
Lord Nelson Mass and Handel's Messiah.
Mr. Nolen has performed with the American Symphony Orchestra, Lyrique-en-Mer,
Opera Theater of St. Louis, Eos Orchestra, Gotham Chamber Opera,
Juilliard Opera Center, Seattle Opera Young Artists Program, Santa
Fe Opera, the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Oberlin Conservatory
of Music, Aspen Music Festival and Music Academy of the West in
Santa Barbara, California. Upcoming is Villequier in Chabrier's
Le Roi Malgre Lui for American Symphony Orchestra.
