Jayoung Yoon, (Noe, Lyric/Dramatic Soprano),
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Ms. Yoon received her B.M. and M.M.
from Seoul National University and was honored with a S.N.U. scholarship
for the duration of her studies. In April of 2003, Ms. Yoon made
her New York City debut singing the role of Pamina in The Magic
Flute with the Lyric Opera of New York. Also, in October of 2003
she made her debut with the Fargo Moorhead Opera Company as Fiordiligi
in Cosi fan tutte. Most significantly, Ms. Yoon recently returned
from her Israeli debut as Blanche de la Force in Dialogues of the
Carmelites.
As a member of the Austin Lyric Opera's Young Artist Program, Ms.
Yoon has performed Lula in Carlisle Floyd's Cold Sassy Tree, Micaela
in Carmen, Gilda in Rigoletto, Mimi and Musetta in La Boheme, Clorinda
in La Cenerentola, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Countess in Marriage
of Figaro, Rosina in Barber of Seville, Marguerite in Faust, Donna
Anna in Don Giovanni, as well as First Lady in The Magic Flute.
Ms. Yoon has numerous other awards including 1st Prize Winner of
the Veronica Dunn International Singing Competition, the 1st Prize
Winner of the District Metropolitan Audition and Special Award of
the upper Midwest Regional Auditions for the Metropolitan Opera
National Council. Most recently, Ms. Yoon was the 2nd prize and
Audience Choice Winner of the Verisimo Voice Competition in New
York. Ms. Yoon will be performing soprano solo in Beethoven's Mass
in C with The Middle Town Chorale, Micaela in Carmen with One World
Symphony, and Frasquita in Carmen with Duluth Superior Symphony.
